Similes in American English
Every American knows most of these similes. A simile is a figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by "like" or "in", as in: He was as strong as a bull. 2. He's as cunning as a mouse- snail -fox -cow
3. She's as wise as a horse - lion - tiger - owl
4. He's as quiet as a ape - sheep - owl -mouse
