Rate/Ratio or Percent

Rate/Ratio or Percent
Only one selection allowed.

95% confidence intervals are also shown for baseline (non-Bayes/Nearest Neighbor) age-adjusted/specific rates and SMRs. Move cursor over county to view the data.

NOTE: Your selection in the Age menu will determine what type of rate is output. For example, if All Ages is selected in the Age menu and Age-Adjusted/Specific Rate is selected in the Rate/Ratio menu, then an age-adjusted rate will be output. Selecting specific age groups will output age-specific rates.

In EpiQMS, a rate or ratio that appears in red for a county denotes a significantly higher figure compared to the state’s corresponding rate or ratio. A rate or ratio in blue denotes a significantly lower figure. (NOTE: This feature is not available for Bayesian or mean nearest neighbor rates or ratios.) Significance for Pennsylvania rates and ratios are not calculated and shown.

IMPORTANT: Rates or ratios will not be shown for counts <10 (for baseline age-adjusted/specific rates and SMRs) and for counts <3 (for Bayesian or Nearest Neighbor rates) due to unreliability of such calculations based on small numbers. Unknowns excluded in calculations.
Selections include:

· Age-Adjusted Rate (direct method per 100,000 US 2000 std million population)

· Age-Specific Rate (per 100,000 population of specified ages)

· Percent Staging Distribution

· Age-Adjusted Staging Rate (direct method per 100,000 US 2000 std million population)

· Standard Morbidity Ratio (county compared to state)

· Bayesian Smoothed Age Adjusted Rate (per 100,000 US 2000 std million population)

· Bayesian Smoothed Age Specific Rate (per 100,000 population of specified ages)

· Bayesian Nearest Neighbor Age Adjusted Rate (per 100,000 US 2000 std million population)

· Bayesian Nearest Neighbor Age Specific Rate (per 100,000 population of specified ages)

· Mean Nearest Neighbor Age Adjusted Rate (per 100,000 US 2000 std million population)

· Mean Nearest Neighbor Age Specific Rate (per 100,000 population of specified ages)
